Since I first began photographing people, my beautiful friend Tippy has been my go to I need someone to practice on, I need inspiration, I need to get out and just shoot, model. I love photographing this face. She’s incredibly photogenic which is always nice but when I want to practice with new poses or new lighting situations it’s so nice to have someone to grab who’s comfortable in front of the camera that I can be silly with and make mistakes with and tell them to hold a pose for 10 minutes (well maybe not that long!) so I can try a new lighting arrangement or whatever the case may be. Things you just can’t do with your paying clients. I have her to thank for helping me grow as a photographer and putting up with the things I ask her to do, as silly as they may seem, so that I can learn and grow. I’m ever so grateful to her for that and it doesn’t hurt that she gets these beautiful photographs as my thank you. 🙂
A little snid bit (is that a real phrase??) about this shoot. Tippy found this beautiful field area in Pleasanton while scouting locations herself one day and I came by to check it out. I wandered to the park neighboring the field and fell in love with this really amazing tree I have her sitting on and was dying to take her back here to shoot. So we grabbed the kiddos and headed here to get out some creative energy and test the light at this new location. I didn’t realize how much I would love this small little area but I literally fell in love with it and I’m dying to go back soon and put together something a bit more creative and styled. Till then, here’s my stunning friend doing her thing while I did my thing. Thanks again Tip for modeling for me!
And ya know I had to head over to the field for some sun filled goodness. I just can’t get enough of light airy images like this.
As much as I love trying new things and shooting in less sun, I will always be all about lots of light!!!
Hope you enjoyed today’s post! Till next time! xoxo
